Not all puppy trainers are the same. Our trainer, Fiona, is accredited with the Delta Institute which is a nationally recognised dog training foundation. FIONA’S PUPPY SCHOOL TRAINING
Fiona is an accredited Cert IV-Delta Canine Good Citizen Behavioural Trainer, fully qualified Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, together with being a member of the Associate of Pet Dog Trainers. Fiona has been affiliated in both the pet dog training and the veterinary industry for over 24 years as it is truly her passion, she has also competed her own dogs in high levels
of Obedience, Retrieving and Rally-O.
The Delta institute is the accrediting body for positive reward-based trainers who have undertaken the national accredited training course, conducted by Delta. Attending puppy class is a socialising and training program for you and your puppy. This gives you the best chance to start off the right paw- aiming for a happy, confident adult dog.
Fiona’s aims during the 5 week program:
- To help the owners to develop an understanding of how dogs think and learn
- To teach owners to be capable of handling a dog in every situation
- To develop a strong owner/dog relationship using positive reinforcement and reward-based training
Classes include puppy training exercises such as sit, loose lead walking and to come when called. Common puppy problems that are covered include: toilet training, biting and mouthing and jumping on people. Fiona’s goals are to help you to teach your dog to be a well-mannered, happy friendly member of the family.
Requirements:
Your puppy will need to be 8- 14 weeks of age and have had their first vaccination.
